The Carolina Panthers granted eight-year-old Jack Bolton’s wish this past weekend when they signed him to a one-day contract as associate head coach. Bolton has spinal muscular atrophy and had his dream of coaching the Carolina Panthers turn into reality through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Coach Bolton prepared a pregame speech for his team, which you can read below, but he was a little too nervous to read it in front of them. However, coach Ron Rivera stepped in and read it for him, with Jack by his side.
Steve Smith greeted him when he entered the facility and instantly started talking football with his new coach. Players approached him in the room to welcome him to the organization. Cam Newton asked him for his autograph, then gave him his used shoes. The Panthers really welcomed Jack with open arms and sent him home with memories that will last a lifetime.
